Monte Mayor Challenge

Golf in Andalucia. At present, Andalucia has over 60 golf courses ranging from modest 9-hole to splendid top championship venues, as well as those adapted for amateurs and tourist golf. All of them are in a perfect condition and prepared for welcoming visiting golfers. The great number and variety of facilities, the privileged climate allows us to play all year round, and the prestige of its golf courses has definitively made Andalucia a first-call golf destination.

With this weekend break we have included a couple of our favourites, Falmingos Golf and the challenging Monte Mayor.

Day 1:
Arrive Malaga Airport, Spain. Met by Executive Golf Andalucia staff and transfer by car hire or mini-coach and driver to the luxurious 4 star El Paraiso Hotel & Golf Club, which is surrounded by gardens, flowers, soft waterfalls and lakes, situated in a residential area between Marbella and Estepona, with panoramic views over the Coast and of course a great Golf Course of 18 holes.

In the evening you will have free time to explore the many shops and restaurant of Puerto Banus or Marbella. Puerto Banus is the place to ogle those fabulous luxury yachts while sipping a drink at one of the many open air restaurants and bars and if you feel up to it you can dance the night away at one of the many night clubs in the area. The setting is close to ideal, with its impressive mountain backdrop and ocean views. The Banus motto is "A Way of Life" and, certainly, this luxurious resort town seems to have it all and is, once again, rising to the fore as a favourite location with the rich and famous, as well as more ordinary folk who like to visit southern Spain's answer to St Tropez.

Day 2:
Play the challenging Monte Mayor Golf course, Created by the renowned course designer José Gancedo, this golf course is probably unlike any you have ever played before. Nestled in a natural amphitheatre created by the Serrania de Ronda Mountains, the greens have not been shaped by bulldozers, but by the wild Andalusian nature. With its exciting fairway that winds through dramatic gullies, ravines and streams, Monte Mayor offers a superb challenge to even the most experienced golfers.

Free time in the evening to relax and enjoy Marbella Old Town or head back to your favourite night spot in Banus.   

Day 3:
Meet at Flamingos Golf Club in the middle of the famous golf valley. This spectacular course has been designed to represent the garden of a lavish Tuscan villa. There is an echo of Roman themes with classic columns and statues and marble bridges over streams. Every hole affords magnificent ocean views with Gibraltar and Africa beyond. A round of golf here takes players through a wide variety of trees and shrubs including Olive, chestnut, orange, cypress trees to name but a few.

The course is technically demanding particularly over the front nine with a real test on the par 4 tenth. There are some with elevated tees providing unobstructed and panoramic views over the Mediterranean sea. The course is 5619 metres off the yellow markers and when you have finished you have the pleasure of sampling some fine ale at the 6 star Villa Padierna Hotel

You will be transported back to El Paraiso and free in the evening to relax and enjoy the hotel entertainment or head into one of the local towns.

Day 4:
You will play the famous Aloha Golf Course , which is situated minutes from Puerto Banus with views over the fairways down to the Mediterranean sea. This is a super course with great facilities including driving range, resturaunts and large outdoor terraces so that you can continue to enjoy the views over a cold beer.
Transfer or hire car back to the Hotel where you can relax and enjoy the in house entertainment or head into town for another night of fine dining.

Day 5:
Relax by the pool during the day and early afternoon you will be transfered to Malaga airport for the journey home.
